Trap 1, Show High Interest Then Stall March 27, 2006

I first spotted the term SHITS (Show High Interest Then Stall) in Rick Segal's (Toronto VC) recent Memo to BigCo. Rick's take on the issue is clear and definite: "This practice of hype the kids, … [it] is offensive and needs to stop".

SHITS hit me again from "the art", chapter "the art of raising capital", by Guy Kawasaki (Valley VC). This time under a harsher definition – trap. some traces of the issues can be found in Guy's Top Ten Lies.

my take away from all these:
interest are merely encouragements, don't fall for the trap.

—–

or worded slightly differently:
rule 1: no purchase necessary – seriously
rule 2: must be legal drinking age to participate
